One of the things that UT generally, and McCombs specifically, prides itself on is its diversity. When most of us think about diversity, we think of components like race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status. All of those categories are very important, and diversity in each area is a valuable thing. However, there’s one category that often gets overlooked: disability. People living with disabilities have their own unique perspective and, in many cases, a culture all their own. Since October is National Disability Awareness Month, let’s take this opportunity to learn more about disability and those living with it.
