McCombs As We Know It (MAWKI) is a welcome program coordinated by students for freshmen that targets primarily Latino/a and African American students. MAWKI’s purpose is to create a sense of community for incoming students and introduce them to resources and upper-classmen to whom they can relate.
Jonathan Sprinkles, a UT graduate and nationally recognized speaker, will welcome you and motivate you to begin your college career with confidence and full of energy! Jonathan Sprinkles was named “2006 College Speaker of the Year” because “he’s funny; his energy keeps audiences on the edge of their seats; and he pulls no punches…he inspires students to aim high and reject excuses… Jonathan Sprinkles’ life is one that we can all celebrate as proof that you don’t have to come from a great background to live a great life.”

MAWKI is presented by the Diversity and Inclusion Student Council (DISC) supported by the Office of Student Life at the McCombs School of Business.
