The McCombs School Announces New MBA Advisory Board Members and Executive Committee Leadership for Fall 2019

The McCombs School of Business MBA Advisory Board formed in 2008. Members assist the dean, associate dean of graduate programs, faculty, and staff of the McCombs School of Business in achieving and maintaining “best of class” status for the MBA programs. Members support the MBA program’s strategy planning, curricula, external affairs, alumni engagement, fundraising efforts, and student placement. Member nominations are accepted on a rolling basis. The executive committee considers nominations for membership each spring and new three-year terms begin Sept. 1.

Class Note: Brad Eixmann, MBA ’02

Brad Eixmann, MBA ’02, was named Chief Investment Officer of Chilton Capital Management.  He will continue in his role as Senior Portfolio Manager of the Growth and Income Strategies and will oversee all portfolio management, research, and related investment functions for Wealth Management.

Class Note: Julia Murphy, BBA ’86

Julia Murphy, BBA ’86, was named Deputy Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of San Antonio.  A certified community and regional planner, Murphy is leading projects that advance climate action and adaptation; natural resource conservation;  energy efficiency and historic preservation in the Texas Hill Country.  Calling Texas home, she has also lived and worked in Florida, Virginia, Italy and Germany.

Class Note: Susan V. Sample, MPA ’87

Class Note: Stu Bell, MBA ’99

CrowdOut Capital LLC, a pioneering non-bank, private lender for middle market companies, today announced the opening of its Dallas office and the hiring of Stu Bell to lead the market. Bell has more than 20 years of experience in commercial banking and private equity.

Class Note: Jaime Easley, MPA ’01, Appointed Vice President, CFO of SPX Flow

SPX FLOW, Inc., a leading global provider of process solutions and flow control technology, today announced the appointments of Jaime Easley as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and Ryan Taylor as Chief Strategy Officer, effective immediately.

Easley has served as Vice President, Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer and Taylor has served as Vice President of Communications and Investor Relations since the company’s spin off from SPX Corporation in September 2015. Easley will succeed Jeremy Smeltser who has resigned from the company after serving as Vice President and CFO over the past three years.

Class Note: RetailMeNot founder, Marissa Tarleton, MBA ’02, to leave CEO post

Marissa Tarleton, MBA ’02, who’s received national recognition for her work as chief marketing officer, will take over a business that was acquired for more than $600 million in 2017. Read more.

Class Note: Imani McGee-Stafford, BBA ’16

Every year, the African American Male Research Initiative brings hundreds of athletes, educators, mental health experts and sports industry professionals to the Forty Acres for the Black Student-Athlete Summit, a three-day event that sparks timely conversations about the challenges and opportunities faced by Black student-athletes.

While topics ran the gamut from National Anthem protests to professional development, sessions on health and wellness made up a considerable chunk of the program—and for good reason. Left unchecked, the intensity of collegiate sports can pose serious mental health consequences for student-athletes.
