From John McCollum, MBA ‘97

Alumni volunteers enable the success of the McCombs mission.

I am on the MBA Advisory Board and am thrilled to be the chair of the alumni giving committee. It’s an exciting time at the McCombs School of Business.  There is a new dean, a new strategic direction, and bright new students visiting UT campus every day.   In order to ensure the success of the McCombs School and keep tuition affordable, you and I need to give back.  Annual giving helps students have a positive experience at McCombs, strengthens our alumni network, and enhances the value of the McCombs degree.  Alumni giving also plays a role in rankings and currently McCombs alumni participation is only at 6% compared to our peer schools who average at about 25%.

That is why I am reaching out to my fellow alumni today for fundraising volunteers. In an effort to increase participation and stay competitive, my committee and additional volunteers will be reaching out to our peers to give back with donations, large or small. I hope that you will join me in this effort.

If you are interested in being a fundraising volunteer, please contact Paula Hallin, Assistant Director for Annual Giving at paula.hallin@mccombs.utexas.edu or 512-232-6152.  If you are unable to assist but would like to support the McCombs School, give today.  Thanks to all our current generous supporters.

The MBA Class of 2009 set a record with 99.23% participation for the MBA Legacy campaign.  Above and to the left is a comparison of MBA participation for previous class years.
